How private hotel offers work, what happens after you submit, and when your card is charged.
LastKeys is a web-based hotel platform that lets you name your own price on unsold premium hotel rooms. You pick a star rating and location, submit your price, and if the private market accepts, you are booked instantly. The hotel name is revealed only after your booking is confirmed.
On traditional booking sites, you browse public prices that hotels set. On LastKeys, you set the price. Hotels accept offers through our system without ever publicly discounting their brand. You get rates that do not exist anywhere else, because hotels would never post these prices publicly.

Yes. There is no subscription, no membership fee, and no cost to sign up. You only pay when you book a room. Your total includes the room rate you offered, applicable taxes, and a small booking fee (3.5%) that covers payment processing.

No app needed. LastKeys is a web app. Just open lastkeys.ai in your phone browser and you are ready to go. It is designed mobile-first so it feels just as smooth as a native app, without taking up space on your phone.
It takes about 30 seconds. Head to lastkeys.ai, your location is auto-detected. Choose Tonight or Tomorrow, pick a star rating (3-star through 5-star), and you will see a Buy It Now price. Want a better deal? Tap Make an Offer, type your price, and hit Commit to Pay. If a hotel accepts, your card is charged instantly and the hotel is revealed. The whole process takes under 60 seconds.
When you tap Commit to Pay, you are making a binding offer. If the private market matches your offer to a hotel, your card is charged instantly, with no delays and no confirmation screens. This is what makes it work: hotels trust that every offer is real because payment is guaranteed. Do not make an offer unless you mean it.
No. You make an offer on a category, for example a 4-star hotel in South Beach. You will not know which specific hotel you will get until after your booking is confirmed and paid. This is by design: it is what allows hotels to offer you prices far below their public rates without damaging their brand.
Every category shows a Buy It Now price, a pre-set rate you can book instantly without making an offer. Think of it as the guaranteed option. If you want to go lower, that is what making an offer is for. If your offer is not accepted, Buy It Now is always still available.
If your offer is not accepted, you may get a counteroffer, the lowest price a participating hotel will accept right now. You can accept the counteroffer and book immediately, or decline. If you decline, you cannot make another offer on that category for the rest of the night. Your only remaining option is the Buy It Now price. So make your best offer the first time.
This is the one-shot rule. It prevents people from fishing, submitting low offers just to discover a price and then offering just above it. The one-offer limit encourages you to offer what the room is actually worth to you. It keeps the system fair for both travelers and hotels, and it is what allows hotels to offer such deep discounts in the first place.
Yes. The one-offer rule is per category. You can place one offer on a 4-star and a separate offer on a 3-star in the same session. But once you have made an offer (or declined a counteroffer) on a specific category, that category is locked for the night.
Every hotel on LastKeys meets the quality standard of its star rating. A 4-star on LastKeys is a real 4-star, verified on Google, TripAdvisor, and major booking sites. You are choosing the tier of experience you want. While you cannot pick the exact property, you can trust the category. If you want certainty on the specific hotel, the traditional booking route is always available, but you will pay the public price.
Your total is: your offer amount (or the Buy It Now price) plus applicable local taxes plus a 3.5% booking fee. The booking fee covers secure payment processing via Stripe. There are no hidden fees from us. The hotel may have its own on-property fees, such as parking or resort charges, just as they would with any booking platform.
Credit and debit cards via Stripe. Apple Pay and Google Pay support is coming soon.
Not right away. During the booking process, the charge shows as LastKeys so the hotel name stays hidden until your reveal. The final charge on your statement may later reflect the hotel name, which is normal. There is no way to peek at the hotel name early by checking your bank app before the reveal.
Yes. We never store your credit card details. All payments are handled by Stripe, which is PCI Level 1 certified, the highest level of security in the payments industry. Your card information never touches our servers.
Yes. LastKeys is a registered U.S. company. Payments are processed securely through Stripe Connect, the same payment infrastructure used by Lyft, DoorDash, and Shopify. Your booking confirmation includes a reservation code that the hotel has on file.
The hotel stays private before a successful match.
Your card is held when you submit an offer and charged only after a match.
The hotel remains Merchant of Record.
Any resort fees or hotel-collected charges are disclosed before you commit your card.
This is the core of how LastKeys works. Hotels can only offer these deeply discounted rates because their name is hidden until after payment. If the hotel name were visible, it would undercut their public pricing on Expedia, Booking.com, and their own website, which would violate their rate agreements and damage their brand. The privacy is what unlocks the savings.
Our partner hotels are verified, rated properties, the same 3-star through 5-star hotels you would find on any major booking platform, including half-star tiers like 3.5-star and 4.5-star. Many are well-known brands and boutique properties. Every hotel on our platform is vetted for quality. You are not getting a downgrade, you are getting a premium room at a non-public price.
For now, all bookings are Run of House, meaning the hotel assigns you a standard room in your star category. We are working on adding room-type preferences (king bed, suite, etc.) in a future update.
After your booking is confirmed, the hotel receives an automatic notification with your name, reservation code, and check-in details. You will also receive a confirmation screen (and email) with the hotel name, address, check-in time, and your unique reservation code. Just show up, they are expecting you.
No. You can book from anywhere, your couch, the airport, another city. LastKeys uses your location to suggest nearby hotels by default, but you can search any area you like. As for booking while physically at a hotel, some properties enable a geo-fence that blocks in-lobby bookings to protect their front desk rates, while others allow it. It is up to each hotel.
The booking is tied to the name on your LastKeys account. If you are booking for someone else, they will need to show the confirmation code at check-in. Contact support if you need to update the guest name after booking.
Currently, LastKeys supports single-night bookings, tonight or tomorrow. Multi-night stays and future-date bookings are on our roadmap.
LastKeys does not add resort fees. The hotel may have its own on-property charges, such as parking or resort fees, just as they would with any booking. Any hotel-collected charges are disclosed before you commit your card, using our approved product language, so you know the full commitment before you pay.
No. All LastKeys bookings are final and non-refundable. Because hotels are offering you rates significantly below their public prices, rates that only exist because the booking is binding, cancellations are not permitted. When you tap Commit to Pay, you are committing. Please only book if you are sure you can check in.
In the rare event that a hotel cannot accommodate your booking (overbooking, emergency closure, etc.), LastKeys will either rebook you at a comparable or higher-rated property at no extra cost, or issue a full refund. You are protected if the hotel does not deliver, you are just not protected from changing your own mind.
No. LastKeys bookings are for the specific night you selected (tonight or tomorrow). Date changes are not available. This is a same-day or next-day booking platform, the deals exist because the rooms would otherwise go unsold.
We understand that life happens, but our policy is firm: all sales are final. We encourage you to only book when you are certain of your plans. LastKeys is designed for committed travelers, and the no-cancellation policy is what allows hotels to offer these rates.
Contact LastKeys support immediately. If the hotel claims they do not have your reservation or cannot accommodate you, we will resolve it, either by coordinating directly with the hotel, rebooking you at an equal or better property, or issuing a full refund.
